IntroductionMoEd means “the appointed time” in Hebrew. MoEd is… a new Jewish educational afterschool program for children in grades K-5 who live in close-in Montgomery County and nearby Washington, DC. a fun and engaging program of high-quality childcare and Jewish learning, with an emphasis on Hebrew language, operating after school until 6:30 pm. an easy way for busy families to introduce their children to Jewish learning or to enhance the education their children receive through synagogue or day schools. building a community of children, families, and teachers and strengthening ties to synagogues, schools, and other Jewish institutions in the DC area. MoEd will open for the
2012-2013 school year co-located with Ohr Kodesh Congregation in Chevy Chase,
MD. Children may enroll for 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week, as well as on days when
public schools are closed or close early. Transportation will be offered from
several Montgomery County Public Schools. We are part of a growing movement nationally
for Jewish aftercare education programs.
